9:00 a.m. start
Pleasant Valley Sports Club, Clermont, Iowa.

The Turkey River Recreational Corridor is hosting the 1st Annual Turkey River TRI-P – a triathlon with a TWIST! Theevent, originally scheduled for June 29th was rescheduled due to high water levels on the Turkey River in June.

Two person teams will canoe the Turkey River Water Trail from the Turkey River Canoe launch to the Gilbertson Park (3.1 miles), ride their bikes from Gilbertson back to Pleasant Valley Sports Club on the TRRC trail (3.4 miles), and then play 9 holes of golf in a 2-person best shot event.  It’s a great way to get outside and enjoy some summer fun along the Turkey River!

Registration fee is $100 per team which includes lunch, green fees, and a FREE event t-shirt. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top teams.  Teams can register in person at Pleasant Valley Sports Club, Clermont or online at  www.turkeyrivercorridor.com.  All proceeds from the event will benefit the Turkey River Corridor and enhancements to TRRC trail projects.

As one of Iowa’s Great Places, The Turkey River Corridor Project will connect Clermont, Elgin and Elkader to develop and enhance the existing natural resource base through the creation of land and water trails to serve as the catalyst for economic growth and development.

The TRI-P is a new summer event to showcase the Turkey River Water Trail which was named a State Water Trail in 2011.
